Getting your Pet Ready for the Holidays!

25 Nov

Casa Grande Animal Hospital wants to get your pet ready for the holidays! For every dental cleaning  performed in December, Casa Grande Animal Hospital will also give each pet a complimentary bath, toe nail trim, heartworm test, bag of food, and dental care kit!

“The holidays are a time when the whole family comes together – including pets,” said Hospital Manager, Mike Falconer. “We want that four-legged family member to have fresh breath, a clean coat, and trimmed nails – the dog and cat equivalent of getting dressed up for a family occasion.”

Your pet having clean teeth, however, is also important for their overall health. Calculus build up, also know as tartar, is a hard substance that is full of bacteria. In addition to damaging your pet’s teeth and gums, and causing bad breath, the bacteria use the teeth and gums to enter the bloodstream. Once the bacteria enters the bloodstream, it can travel to the major organs such as the liver, kidneys, and heart possibly causing irreparable damage. It is estimated that good oral health in a pet can add 2-4 years to their lives.

“As well as making your pet more pleasant to be around, dental care is a serious issue for pet health,” said Dr. John McWhirter an associate veterinarian at Casa Grande Animal Hospital.  “Regular dental cleanings, like with humans, will help find problems before they become serious issues and will help augment the brushing that you routinely do at home. Good oral pet health can also bring significant general health benefits, and by simply staying on top of it, can also bring significant financial rewards – in addition, to no more “doggy breath”!

Casa Grande Animal Hospital is a full service companion small animal facility, offering wellness care, vaccinations, spaying & neutering, dental care, digital x-rays, ultrasound, laser & orthopedic surgeries, endoscopy and a full in-house laboratory. Catering to most types of pet, Casa Grande Animal Hospital also offers equine and farm animal services, and has a large air conditioned boarding facility. Casa Grande Animal Hospital is open from 8:00AM till 9:00PM Monday through Saturday and 8:00AM through 6:00PM on Sunday.
